3RD ANNUAL “PINK JERSEY” BENEFIT GAME
On Saturday October 1, 2011, The University of Scranton Men's Rugby Team donned commemorative pink jerseys for our EPRU League match, in order to raise awareness and funds for The American Cancer Society. This was our third annual benefit game, held in conjunction with The University of Scranton Chapter of Colleges Against Cancer, and was again held on Parents Weekend. A large crowd of Parents and Family, an informational tent from American Cancer Society, a hot Barbecue station staffed and donated by Doc McGrogan's Oyster House, all contributed to a festive atmosphere leading up to the traditional post match auction of the Pink Game jerseys. For the Third year in a row, this event again raised $6,000 donated directly to American Cancer Society, and in particular the initiative of Breast Cancer Awareness. Our opponents for the match, Villanova University, made a nice donation as well. This is somewhat of a “HOME and AWAY” benefit fixture for both teams, as Scranton play at Villanova in March in a match to benefit Patrick’s Pals Foundation. Many Thanks to Donors, Parents,Family, Alum, and Friends for cheering both teams on in a hard fought match, and for your generous support of the benefit initiative.

2011 NORSEMEN ALUMNI WEEKEND
On Friday April 29, 2011 5 Foursomes of Norsemen Alumni, along with University Club Moderator Bobby Davis, Coach Gregory and 3 current players converged on Blue Ridge Trails Golf Club for the First Annual Norsemen Alumni Golf outing, with tireless organization Thanks to Chuck McManus, Bill Higgins, Bill Dempsey among others…this will be an annual affair. The golfers then adjourned to a catered dinner in DeNaples Center, joined by current Norsemen Seniors, again this will be an annual addition to Alumni Weekend. We then had a spirited and high scoring match on Saturday afternoon, with multiple attempts at rule bending on both sides of the ball, good rugby, great camaraderie, and the re enforcement to current players that we are all Noresemen for life!!
